Basic Nut Milk Recipe

After soaking nuts place about 1 to 1 and 1/2 cups nuts in a blender. Add about 3 cups of filtered water. Blend on high until the nuts are really finely ground. I use a nut bag (available here) then, to strain:you just pour the milk with the ground nuts into the bag, over a large measuring cup or bowl, and squeeze the bag gently until all the milk has run through. It’s good just like this, but I also add different flavorings–vanilla extract, almond extract, a tiny bit of stevia, cardamom, cinnamon. I dehydrate the pulp and save it to grind into flour too. The pulp (and flour) can be frozen for months.
